In Q2 2024, the top 5 Travel and Local apps on the Android platform in Ecuador demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Airbnb saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 8.4K in early April and peaking at around 19K by the end of June. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, growing from about 126K to 149K over the same period.

Despegar: vuelos y hoteles experienced fluctuating downloads, with numbers ranging between 2.2K and 3.9K weekly. The app’s active user base remained relatively stable, averaging around 24K to 26K throughout the quarter.

Marriott Bonvoy: Book Hotels exhibited a substantial increase in weekly downloads, starting at 1.2K in early April and reaching approximately 4.2K by mid-June. Active users also grew significantly, from about 4.6K to 8.1K by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth showed a steady rise in downloads, beginning at 1.6K and peaking at 4.6K in mid-June. The active user count also increased, moving from around 17K to 26K over the quarter.

Hostelworld: Hostel Travel App had a remarkable surge in downloads, starting with just 67 in early April and peaking at over 4K by the end of the month. Active users followed a similar trend, growing from 295 to nearly 5K by the end of June.
